                         Resources-potentials for development
 


     Mineral raw materials
Reserves of lead-zinc minerals. The balance reserves are around 148.000.000 tons.
Non metal raw materials (opal breccia, quartz, sileks, architecture-ornamental stone, construction stone- with plenty specific aesthetical characteristics which above all are related to the different types of tuff and shale.
The Zletovsko-Kratovski part of the Osogovo region has the longest mining history on the Balkan. According to the data the mining has started from the XII th century (the year of 1153).

     Water potentials
Osogovo is characterized with middle rich hydrographic network. Larger water flows are: Zletovska river-springs on 1700 mnb, flow-2.64 meters cube in second. Orizarska river-springs on 1500 mnb, with predicted construction of dam with accumulation of 25.000 meters cube. Kamenicka river, Kocanska river-springs on 1600 mnb, on which the dam Gradce is built.
Constructed accumulation Kalimanci with length of the lake 14km and width 3km, spreads over 4.23km square and accumulates 127.000.000 meters cube water.

     Agriculture
A region where the larger part of the terrain is mountainous.
An ideal for production of healthy food, with agricultural surfaces on which heretofore has not been used an artificial chemical preparations; with an extraordinary conditions for organic production. In the mountainous part the most present is the production of a quality potato, while at the Kocanska valley the one of the most quality rice is being produced.
Total surface of cultivable land-65.000 ha, pastures-58.140 ha and wood-65.100 ha.
The region enables favourable conditions for development of stock breeding.
